How to send a useful, safe report.

A strong tip helps the team identify the account, understand why it was reported, and review the information without encouraging anyone to redistribute illegal material.

Include

Information that helps

  • Platform name
  • Username or profile URL
  • Account identifier when available
  • A clear description of what happened
  • Relevant dates or approximate timing
  • Safe screenshots or documents where permitted
  • Police report information if one already exists
Never include

Illegal content

Do not upload, forward, copy, or redistribute child sexual abuse material, sexually explicit images or videos involving minors, or other illegal content through the Predator Poachers tipline.

If you encountered suspected CSAM, do not send the material to us. Use the appropriate official reporting or law-enforcement channel instead.

Writing the report

Focus on what you observed.

Clear facts and context are more useful than labels or conclusions.

Less useful

“This person is definitely a predator. Do something.”

More useful

“The Instagram account @exampleaccount contacted my younger sibling. After being told their age, the account continued messaging and asked to move the conversation to Snapchat. The Snapchat username provided was example45.”

911
Immediate danger

Use emergency or law-enforcement channels when urgent action is needed.

Predator Poachers is a civilian organization. A website submission is not an emergency service and is not the same as filing a police report.
